Terms of Service

1. Who we are

PaperMind ("the Service") is operated by Huseyn Huseynov, an individual based in Azerbaijan ("we", "us"). You can reach us at hhuseynov0707@gmail.com.

2. What the Service does

PaperMind is a research tool. It indexes abstracts and metadata of scientific papers from public sources — arXiv, Crossref, DOAJ and OpenAlex — and lets you search them by meaning and ask questions answered from those abstracts, with citations you can open and verify.

We do not host or redistribute full paper texts. Links point to the publisher or preprint server, and access to full text is governed by whoever publishes it.

3. Accounts

Searching is available without an account. Asking questions, saving papers and paid features require an account. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed by someone else.

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.

4. Plans, credits and payment

The Free plan is available at no cost. The Pro plan is a monthly subscription. Each plan includes a monthly allowance of research credits, which are consumed by operations that cost us money to run (asking a question, comparing papers, generating research-gap analysis). Credits reset at the start of each calendar month and do not carry over.

Payments are processed by Paddle.com Market Ltd, which acts as Merchant of Record for all purchases. Paddle handles billing, taxes and payment data; we never see or store your card details. Paddle's own terms also apply to the transaction.

You can cancel at any time. Cancellation stops future charges; your Pro features remain active until the end of the period you have already paid for. Refunds are described in our Refund Policy.

5. What the answers are, and are not

Answers are generated by a language model from the abstracts our system retrieved. Every citation shown is checked against the retrieved evidence before the answer is displayed, and citations the model invents are removed. This reduces error; it does not eliminate it.

Answers may still be incomplete, outdated or wrong. The Service works from an indexed subset of the literature, not the whole of it. Nothing here is medical, legal, financial or professional advice. Verify anything that matters by opening the cited source. You remain responsible for how you use the output, including any academic integrity rules that apply to you.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

We may suspend accounts that do these things.

7. Availability

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. It is operated by one person on modest infrastructure; we do not promise uninterrupted availability, and we may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue a paid feature you have paid for, you may request a pro-rata refund.

8. Your content

Your saved papers, notes and questions belong to you. We use them only to operate the Service for you. We do not sell them, and we do not use them to train models.

9. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory consumer rights.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you, we will notify account holders by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated terms.
